F.A.Q. - Frequently Asked Questions
1. Cut off any excess boundary wire behind the charging station. The boundary wire must be cut to the correct length
2. Update to the latest software at: https://robotgarden.se/biltema-rm1000-en/biltema-rm1000-software
3. Make sure you installed the mower according to the instructions:
If none of the above works send an email to robotmower@biltema.com and we’ll guide you through a solution
Restart the mower with the red main power switch located on the rear underside of the mower and put it back into the charging station. Let it remain there for approximately 10 minutes and check whether it started again.
If not, make sure the charging station electrodes are supplying roughly the same current as indicated on the transformer
If your mower still won’t start, your battery or another component may be faulty
A description of how to change the pincode.
1. Push and hold down the padlock button on your mower while starting the main power switch, keep it held for roughly 5 seconds
2. Wait until all the lights on the panel start blinking
3. Enter your 4 digit pincode
4. You will hear a long beep once its done and you may now unlock the mower
This is normal when your robotic mower is in the charging station, but if it’s still flashing red when you try to start it inside the boundary on the lawn, the boundary wire is likely connected in the wrong way, meaning the mower thinks its outside the boundary zone.
The mower always returns home counter clockwise and therefore the charging station electrodes of the charging station must face that way. If you stand inside the boundary zone and look at the charging station, the rear of the charging station should be to the left. See the installation video:
Something has gone wrong with the programming. Try the following steps in order.
1. If the padlock is flashing then enter your pincode (press the padlock 4 times if you didn’t choose a pincode).
2. When the padlock indication is no longer shining, select the amount of hours the mower should be cutting. If you pick the 8H button the mower will cut the lawn for 8 hours including charging time. When the hour button is shining and not blinking it is correctly set, if it’s flashing it’s not set to cut the lawn.
3. Press the play button and close the hatch right after.
Now the mower will leave the charging station and cut each day on the time you started it. That is to say if you selected the 4H button at 08:00 AM it will leave the charging station to cut the lawn 08:00 AM every day
If this doesn’t work, try turning off the rain sensor.
Turn off the mower with the main power switch -> Press and hold down the 10H button and turn the main power switch back on, hold the 10H button depressed for roughly 5 seconds until you hear a long beep (ON) or several short beeps (OFF)
The mower may need to be calibrated. Turn the mower off and place it on a level surface. Depress and hold the play button while turning on the main power switch. Keep it held until you hear two short beeps, then start the mower as per usual and make sure it’s running correctly.
- Make sure you have a blue shining indication between the charging station electrodes. If it flashes red you likely have a severed boundary wire.
- Make sure your charging station and robotic mower both are set to the same signal, for example S1
- If your charging station gives you a blue indication between the electrodes, try disconnecting one of the boundary wires from the rear of the charging station. Does it start flashing red? If it’s still blue you have a faulty circuit board and should contact robotmower@biltema.com
The automatic zone cutting works as such that the robotic mower automatically divides the length of the boundary wire into 10 zones.
The mower will start by running along the boundary wire and calculate how long the boundary wire is. It will then divide it up into 10 different starting points along the wire, and start at each one in a repeated sequence. If it doesn’t have time to start from each zone during one day, it will continue on the next. Once it started one time at each point it will start over again.
The automatic zone cutting is enabled by default when you buy the mower. To turn it off, start by turning the mower off with the main power switch.
Depress and hold the 8H button while turning on the main power switch again. Hold it for about 5 seconds until you hear several short beeps. This indicates that the function is turned off.
To turn it on again repeat the same steps as before but instead of listening for several short beeps you want one long beep. This indicates that the function is turned on.
